We are Huurdersbond Vlaams-Brabant VZW. We give legal advice to people who rent a property in Vlaams-Brabant.

You can come to us as:

• private tenant
• social tenant
• student-tenant
• social organisation

Do you live in another province? Then contact that province's Tenants Union.

What do we help with?

• We provide information about your rights and obligations.
• We can help you communicate with your landlord by preparing model letters.

The information you give us is treated confidentially. We don't share it with others.

You can call us for an initial free consultation (016/25.05.14). We are available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 9 AM and 12 AM.

If your question is too difficult, we will schedule an appointment. We ask you to pay €12 membership at the appointment. You will then be a member for one year. Some municipalities are members with us. As a resident of that municipality, you can be a member for free. When you call us, you will get the necessary information.

Our main office is in Leuven. We also give advice in Vilvoorde, Halle, Grimbergen, Tienen, Aarschot and Diest.

• We do not help you look for a new home. Do you live in Leuven or Diest? Contact Woonanker Leuven or Woonanker Diest or the CAW in your municipality.
• Do you have financial problems? Contact the OCMW.
• We do not give advice to landlords. For this you can contact de Verenigde Eigenaars.
• Would you like to register for social housing? This can be done through the Central Registration Register.
